Taylor & Tyler

May your love be modern enough to survive the times, but old fashioned enough to last forever.

This simple, yet astonishing quote stuck with me all the way back home to Washington, and was the inspiration behind the edit. With a mix of modern cinematic moments, and vintage grain (from a salvaged rodenstock), Taylor and Tyler’s love story is reflected in it’s most beautiful form: forever.

Taylor walked up to me as I was about to leave a wedding that I was second-shooting for. She expressed her gratitude for such a fun day working with me, and then pointed at her dashing boyfriend across the room. “He’s going to propose to me soon. I can feel it. I want you to shoot our wedding.” We exchanged instagram handles, and parted ways.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t put much thought into that moment because it happens a lot to vendors. Drinks get flowing, and suddenly everyone in the room needs a photoshoot, but rarely does it ever come through.

A few weeks later, I got an Instagram DM in the middle of the night full of all capital letters and ring emojis. Needless to say, even after moving to Washington, I found my way back to Illinois’ Starved Rock to shoot this magical day.

I love being in the presence of love, and Taylor & Tyler leave no doubt in the mind that you’re witnessing true partnership, dedication and adoration when you are around them.
