Couple’s Adventure Photoshoot in Discovery Park
The rain stopped. The sky broke. Streaks of blue and white painted the vastness above us with large, dramatic brushstrokes - “q̓aƛ̕əb”.
Frost-bitten berries lined the trails with their odd colors while “x̌ʷəlč” lapped against the pebbled shore. A seal lunged out of the water defending its freshly caught “sʔuladxʷ” (salmon 🐟) from the gulls skwaking above. Winter approaches, and in a season of reflection and gratitude for the harvests that the year has brought us, I once again find myself incredibly humbled that I get to capture people’s moments in love.
Sam and Zac are both such wonderfully warm humans, and the love that they share is special to be around.
Seattle’s warm weather has finally broken. “The Pass” is covered in snow, the clouds are here, the sun sets at 4pm, and it’s been raining non-stop. But for whatever reason, we had the most perfect weather for this adventure, although a bit cold at the end.
After a fresh morning rain, we pulled into the parking lot at Seattle’s largest park. Discovery Park, 534 acres of lush rainforest vibes, beachside views, gorgeous meadows, and an abundance of wildlife would serve as our “point and let’s go there” style adventure for the afternoon.
We started walking in an interesting direction, and Sam and Zac were very much just themselves along the way - the results are images to treasure. Memories from a simple afternoon where they took the time to be in love and admire the beauty of an often forgotten about and under-appreciated natural venue.
